EL DORADO
El Dorado Hills, CA — A Premium Outdoor Fitness Destination Featuring Opti-Fit Equipment Set Within a Modern Recreational Complex
01 — The Vision
Recreation Meets
Premium Fitness
Sparetime El Dorado is a modern recreational complex that made an intentional decision: elevate the outdoor fitness experience to the same premium standard as the indoor amenities. Rather than treating outdoor fitness as a token accessory, the design team positioned the Opti-Fit training zone as a headline amenity — a destination-worthy outdoor gym that would draw members and visitors to the complex.
Set against the backdrop of El Dorado Hills' rolling landscape, the outdoor fitness zone was designed for high-use community engagement and year-round durability. The equipment selection prioritized versatility — ensuring the space could serve everyone from casual recreational users to dedicated fitness enthusiasts without sacrificing the premium feel that the Sparetime brand demanded.
The installation represents a growing trend in community recreation: the recognition that outdoor fitness environments, when executed to a commercial standard, generate amenity value and member engagement that rivals — and sometimes exceeds — traditional indoor gym spaces.

02 — Equipment Ecosystem
Opti-Fit Equipment,
Engineered for Community Use
Every piece of Opti-Fit equipment in the Sparetime installation was selected for its ability to withstand sustained high-volume community use while delivering a premium training experience that matches the complex's indoor amenities.

Opti-Fit Training Zone — Commercial-grade outdoor equipment designed for sustained community use
Multi-Station Training Rigs
The central training rigs accommodate multiple users simultaneously — pull-up bars at varying heights, dip stations, and bodyweight training elements designed to keep throughput high during peak community usage periods without creating wait times or bottlenecks.
Strength & Resistance Stations
Dedicated strength stations provide resistance training capability without the maintenance complexity of selectorized machines — bodyweight-leveraged designs and resistance-band anchor systems deliver genuine strength programming in a permanently outdoor installation.
Accessible Design Philosophy
Equipment heights, grip positions, and movement stations were specified to accommodate the full spectrum of community users — from youth programs and seniors to dedicated fitness athletes — ensuring the outdoor zone genuinely serves every segment of the Sparetime membership.
03 — Landscape & Durability
Built for the Seasons,
Designed for the Community
El Dorado Hills experiences the full range of Northern California seasons — from summer heat to winter rain. Every element of the Sparetime outdoor fitness installation was engineered to perform year-round without degradation, ensuring the amenity remains a consistent draw regardless of weather.
All-Weather Construction
Powder-coated steel frames, stainless hardware, and UV-stabilized grip surfaces ensure the equipment maintains its structural integrity and premium appearance through Northern California's seasonal extremes — summer UV exposure, winter rain, and morning foothill dew cycles.
Ecore Artificial Turf
The training zone is surfaced with commercial-grade artificial turf that drains efficiently during wet weather, stays cool under summer sun, and provides consistent impact absorption — maintaining a safe, clean, and visually appealing training surface through every season of community use.
Landscape Integration
The fitness zone is positioned to complement the existing recreational landscape — native oak trees provide natural shade canopies over portions of the training area, while the equipment layout respects sight lines to the surrounding foothills, creating an outdoor training experience that feels connected to the El Dorado Hills landscape rather than imposed upon it.
Community-Centric Design
Unlike private residential fitness amenities, the Sparetime installation was designed for broad community accessibility — wide circulation paths between stations, clear sight lines for safety, and equipment arranged to encourage social interaction and group use patterns that build the community engagement the recreational complex thrives on.
