South Beach Resort is a residential and hospitality development in Los Angeles defined by its colorful, energetic identity — bold facade colors, palm trees, outdoor amenities, and a lifestyle that feels as much Miami as Southern California. The fitness center brief was clear: the equipment selection and installation had to match that energy at every level.
The result is one of the most comprehensively branded fitness installations in the portfolio. Custom Hoist selectorized machines in a South Beach Resort teal colorway with co-branded graphic wraps. TROY dumbbells bearing the "SouthBeach" script logo. A motivational beach-themed mural wall running the full length of the strength floor. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls giving every machine a direct view of palm trees and California sky.
Beyond the main gym floor, the programming is equally complete: a dedicated Pilates reformer studio, a yoga and group fitness studio with glass doors to the main floor, Matrix spin bikes on an open-air outdoor cycling deck overlooking the resort grounds, and a full TRX functional training zone integrated into the cardio floor. South Beach Resort is a case study in what resort fitness can be when branding, programming, and equipment specification are built together from the start.

Matrix Stairmaster & Treadmill Row
The Matrix StairMaster and treadmill lineup faces the full glass wall — giving cardio users unobstructed palm tree and California sky views during every session. Matrix's Ultimate Deck treadmill surface, displayed on machine decks, signals the grade of specification throughout the facility. Multiple wall-mounted TVs give additional entertainment options across the cardio floor.
Matrix Ellipticals & Cross Trainers
A row of Matrix elliptical cross trainers — equipped with Matrix's large touchscreen console and Suspension Elliptical biomechanics — occupies a second zone of the cardio floor. The cross trainer selection complements the treadmill and StairMaster zone with low-impact cardio options for the full spectrum of South Beach Resort's resident and hotel guest population.
TRX Functional Training Integration
TRX suspension trainers are anchored along the ceiling-mounted rig running parallel to the glass wall — an integrated functional training zone that adds suspension bodyweight work, core training, and mobility programming to the cardio floor without requiring a separate room. The TRX setup is clearly visible in the floor-to-ceiling window reflections, extending the visual depth of the space.

The Hoist selectorized machines are finished in a custom teal-and-white colorway that matches the South Beach Resort brand palette — with co-branded graphic wraps bearing the "South Beach Resort" script on the weight stack shrouds. This level of custom branding integration takes the fitness center from a room with equipment to an extension of the property's identity. Every machine in the circuit carries the resort's visual language.
"It Doesn't Challenge You"
Motivational Mural
The full-length motivational mural runs the length of the strength floor — a beach-blue aerial photograph with a runner in motion and the text "If It Doesn't Challenge You, It Doesn't Change You" in bold script. The mural creates an immersive visual backdrop that connects the strength zone to the South Beach outdoor lifestyle ethos while providing genuine motivational energy during training sessions. It's the signature design feature of the main floor.

Every TROY dumbbell in the set carries the "SouthBeach / TROY" co-branding — the resort's teal script logo paired with the TROY commercial dumbbell designation on the face of each rubber hex dumbbell head. This level of co-branding extends the property identity into the free weight zone in a way that is visible to every resident and guest using the facility.

The TROY dumbbell set spans 5 lbs through 70 lbs in 5 lb increments — a complete commercial range suitable for every training application from physical therapy and rehabilitation through to heavy compound pressing and rowing movements. The three-tier angled rack keeps the full range accessible and visually organized with the heaviest weights at floor level.
Matrix Adjustable Benches
Matrix adjustable FID benches — the same Matrix brand as the cardio floor — are positioned at the dumbbell rack, providing flat, incline, and decline positions for pressing and rowing exercises. A Torque plyo box beside the rack adds jump training and step-up capability to the free weight zone without additional footprint.

A private Pilates reformer studio — furnished with maple-frame reformers aligned to the room's mirrored wall and tall windows — gives South Beach Resort a dedicated mind-body training space that most residential or hospitality facilities cannot offer. is the premier Pilates equipment brand globally. The studio has capacity for small group reformer classes, personal training, and open studio sessions.
Yoga & Group
Fitness Studio
The yoga and group fitness studio — accessible through floor-to-ceiling glass sliding doors that open directly to the main gym floor — provides a separate programming space for yoga, barre, HIIT, and instructor-led group classes. Rolled mats and foam rollers are stored at the perimeter; a small kettlebell rack is visible through the glass doors. The connection to the main floor through glass keeps the studio visual relationship with the full facility.

Matrix Spin Bike Fleet
A full row of Matrix spin bikes — in the brand's signature black and red colorway — is arranged on the outdoor terrace in a single line facing the resort grounds. The Matrix Cycle is specified for its precision magnetic resistance system, ergonomic fit adjustability, and ability to withstand semi-exposed outdoor installation conditions in a coastal California climate.
Resort Ground Views
The outdoor cycling deck orientation gives spin bike users direct views of the South Beach Resort grounds — the pool area, palm tree rows, and the colorful teal, red, and white building facades that define the resort's distinctive visual identity. Training outdoors in a space this visually alive is a genuinely different experience from indoor cycling, and the deck delivers it.
Programming Flexibility
The outdoor cycling deck functions as an overflow space for peak hours when the indoor cardio floor is at capacity, as a dedicated group cycling zone for scheduled outdoor spin classes, or as an open amenity for individual sunrise and sunset rides.
