The Launch in Alameda is a project three years in the making — and it shows. Currently the tallest multifamily building the city of Alameda has ever permitted on the island, this landmark residence demanded an amenity program that matched its architectural ambition and the expectations of its residents.
Floor-to-ceiling glass walls flood the fitness center with natural light and frame panoramic views of the Alameda waterfront, the marina, and the hills beyond — creating a workout environment that is genuinely exceptional. Working closely with the development team, Opti-Fit designed and specified a complete equipment program that delivers luxury-grade performance across every training zone.
Every equipment decision — from the Hoist RS selectorized strength line to the Matrix cardio bank and the Torque functional storage rig — was made to serve residents across all fitness levels, from casual movers to serious athletes, while maintaining the premium aesthetic the building demands.

The Hoist RS selectorized line brings commercial health club quality into the residential amenity space. With refined tan upholstery, clean black powder-coat frames, and biomechanically optimized movement patterns, these machines deliver a training experience that matches the premium character of The Launch itself.

The Hoist RS line spans the full body — chest, back, shoulder, arm, and leg stations — each designed with independent movement arms and multiple adjustment points to accommodate residents across a wide range of heights, builds, and fitness backgrounds. The signature tan upholstery and architectural black frames read as refined amenity, not afterthought gym equipment.
Launch-Branded Dumbbell Program
Custom "Launch" branded dumbbells on a commercial Hoist dumbbell rack add a proprietary, resident-exclusive touch that reinforces the building's identity. The full hex dumbbell set paired with Hoist adjustable benches delivers a complete free-weight station that rivals those found in dedicated commercial health clubs.
Mirrored Walls & Motivational Graphics
Full-height mirror panels behind the selectorized zone create depth and allow residents to monitor form — a detail typically reserved for high-end boutique gyms. Motivational wall graphics, including the prominent "ENJOY THE RIDE" etched panel, reinforce a culture of movement and energy within the space.

The cardio and functional zones face the building's full glass curtain wall — positioning every piece of equipment against a live, ever-changing view of Alameda's waterfront and the distant hills. This isn't just ambiance. It is a daily motivation that no interior wall can replicate.

The functional studio behind glass partition walls gives residents a semi-private, focused training environment for HIIT circuits, Pilates, yoga, and group sessions — without disrupting the main floor. The Torque rig's integrated storage approach eliminates accessory clutter while keeping every tool within immediate reach. And the glass curtain wall that runs the full length of the fitness center ensures that Alameda's waterfront views are woven into the training experience every single day. When the tallest building on the island opens its doors, the fitness center needs to match the view. This one does.
